One More Quilt for Project Linus

This is a chevron quilt. Fun to do and an amazing design. 

 

This is a picture of my Lasho Apso, Chloe with booties which are to keep the grass off her feet so she stops itching. Don't know if they work or not, because she outsmarted us and took them off by pulling on the Velcro as soon as we would get one on.  Onward we go to try something else

Three More Quilts Finished

Forgive me if I have shown these before in an "undone" state, but here they are now all finished! The first one is called Tessellating Stars and will go to Project Linus. This was a pattern I found online and was easy to do.

The second one is called Twisted Stars and is an Eleanor Burns pattern---I like her patterns because they are written so thoroughly and are easy to follow.

The third quilt is called Texas and is the only Texas quilt I have done. I've wanted to make one for quite awhile and finally found a pattern that I liked! The colors look faded, but I guess it's from the bright sunshine! We've had several days of that lately and more to come--has been really nice to have the sunshine!

Now I need to go searching for a new quilt to piece---I have the Written in Thread embroidery quilt I'm working on and the Project Linus ones that I work on, but need a new one to piece. Guess it's time to get the magazines and books out and go hunting--won't that be fun to do? I love looking over the old magazines for ideas!

Here they go......to Project Linus!

Here are three more for Project Linus----newly quilted and bound! I tried out a new pattern called Cornerpost--It is from an old Quiltmaker magazine---I had cut it out, so I can't even tell you which one---sorry!!!! I called it Saturday at the Park--the toile shows boys and girls at play, so I figured they were at the park!!! It makes a smaller quilt, even when I put borders on it!

The next one is called Rainbow Airplanes and is a Disappearing Nine-Patch. You make a Nine-Patch and then cut it in hal, turn the pieces on the right top and bottom left one-half turn and sew them back together and there you have it--it makes a different look.

The last one is a Yellow Brick Road, which I called Lavender and Violets, which is still my favorite---I never get tired of that pattern because no matter what I use it all tends to turn out differently. Making the pattern never gets old either--funny how that is!

Going to a Sit and Sew tomorrow and that's what I plan to work on---a Yellow Brick Road--it's easy to do and visit at the same time---doesn't require a whole lot of concentration, except in one spt where I seem to mess up everytime---can't figure out why that is---you're supposed to cut four pieces and I always end up cutting three unless I am paying attention---so I starred that part and really try to mind my p's and q's in that part!!!!!!

Pieces of the Mystery Quilt.....

Here is another mystery quilt that I am working on---the pattern is found here and on the Quilting Bee forum------thanks to Valerie who has designed it and is putting up the clues every Monday and Thursday.

This shows what I have done up through the middle of Part #4. This is to be small--maybe wall hanging or Project Linus size quilt.

Speaking of Project Linus, we delivered some quilts to the Happiness Is...............Quilting quilt store in McKinney and Project Linus was having a sew-in day and the sewing machines were getting a work out--it was nice to see that the tables were all filled up---they couldn't have fit another person in, I don't think---they were all busy sewing away----they had just finished show and tell of a contest of patriotic quilts---they were beautiful! Now it will be nice to put a name and face together with the co-ordinator! Of course, I had to buy some $1.25 FQs while I was there---can't pass those up!!!!

DFW Gang is getting together again to have a Sit and Sew and I think I will work on more YBRs--I have 3 more to quilt and I will be caught up---Maynard is getting caught up on the big quilts, too--only 5 more of those to go---feels so good to get caught up, doesn't it!

I have been cutting out quilts though for the 2 retreats I have coming up in August, got to stay one step ahead!
