Happy Easter!

It's a glorious Easter Day as we celebrate Christ's rising from the dead and bringing us new life.  Praise the Lord!  I hope you are enjoying your day!
This one is named "Friendly Zoo" and is for Project Linus.  There's a pink elephant and a brown bear balancing on a ball.  Fun!
Here are two of the eight "Blazing Stars" that are for the "JOY Sampler" from Fons and Porter that I am working on.  These are paper pieced.  There's four green and four red.  I have to take the paper off of one red one and have two more red ones to sew and I will be done with them.  Paper piecing is not my cup of tea, but is the only way I can see to do these kind of stars.  I admire the person who drafted the pattern!

Two blocks from a Block of the Month

These are two blocks from A BOM at Open Gates Blog.  She has 2 different rulers that she strongly suggests you use for the pattern, but I didn't purchase them and am having quite a time now on the third block trying to figure it out.  But I will get it sooner or later.
I'm sorry, but I can't see buying a ruler for using for only one quilt.  Besides I have lots of rulers and should be able to figure this out!  She does these blocks in such different ways that I have never done before, so this is quite a learning experience!  I do like the way they are turning out though.  You have your choice of doing six blocks or twelve.  Guess which layout I'm doing!!!!!  Maybe I'll change my mind when I get six made!!!!

Having gloomy, wet weather here---good day to sit at the sewing machine------------after I go and get the groceries----not my favorite thing to do!!!  Anybody out there like that job?  Highs only in the 40's and low 50's the next few days.

Tomorrow we will go to a Quilt Show in Tyler.  It is not a very big one, but is a nice one.  We will get to see the azaleas in bloom, too and eat at our favorite barbecue place, Rudy's!

Busy Quilting!

Been busy quilting and not blogging!  Sorry to let it go so long.  We have been busy with our company work (quilting), too.  That's been nice!  Here's some of what I have been doing:

This is the start of a Ritzy Crackers quilt.  The pattern is a free one at Moda Bake Shop.  Moda Bake Shop is a fun blog to visit.  They have quilters who send in their patterns for lots of fun things----sometimes it's things others than quilts.  I try to check it every day.
This is a "teaser" showing just a part of a secret project that I'm working on.  Can't give any details because I'm not sure if the one the secret is for reads my blog.  Don't want to give the secret away!  Let's just say that it has been way outside my box, but has been good for a challenge for me!!!!

We are enjoying lovely Spring weather, although a bit on the cool side.  Nice sweatshirt weather.

Four To Go! One To Stay!

This one is Warm Wishes Froggies.  Warm Wishes was a pattern put out by Quiltmaker magazine and is still on their website after several years.  It was made especially for  Project Linus.  I've made lots of these, as they are fun to do.
Using the Accuquilt Cutter GO! for the Drunkard's Path pieces made the cutting so easy and then piecing it together went well because all the pieces were accurately cut.  What a time saver that machine is!  I loved this pattern when I first saw it and knew I had to make it.  It is in Quilt
 magazine April/May2013.
Audra's Iris Garden is the line of fabric for this Yellow Brick Road and I have decided to take it  for my own use.  It's just the right size to curl up in to watch TV and surf the internet.  Thanks Debi for the gift of this fabric!
There are two of these airport panels.  Lots of things to see at the airport and I can just see someone playing with the planes on the runway or taxiing up to the terminal!

Maynard has a beautiful plaid quilt on the machine (Handiquilter Fusion 24) for quilting tonight.  It's wonderful to see all the quilts coming in to be quilted.  Each one is beautiful in its' own way.  Thanks to all our good customers!
