Disappearing 4 to 9 Patch

This is a new pattern I found strolling around Blogland! The pattern tutorial is here at Sew Wonderful's blog. The pictures show what I did with a scrappy one----I used a charm pack that Debi gave me called Nautical and Nice and added some lights to it. It was fun to do and I hope to have a picture soon of the whole quilt. I am making 30 blocks and will set it at 5x6 blocks. The first picture is the 4 patch block.

Next is the cutting apart of the block. You cut one inch on all 4 sides of the center seams. I used a turntable cutting board and it made it very easy to do! Then you rearrange the center blocks as shown.

Sew the block back together and viola, you have a finished block that has an entirely different look than what you started out with.

Dogs Rule Quilt Top

This little top was a pre-cut quilt that I won in a drawing from Quilted Quickies blog awhile back and today I decided to make it-----they sure go fast when they are pre-cut. This one was die cut, I think because the pieces were just great to work with! I named it "Dogs Rule" because the fabric was dogs doing silly things on one piece and another piece had dog bones with dog's names on them. cute fabric! The name that the the pattern writer had given it was "I See Sillies"--a play on words from the isosceles triangles which were used in the quilt. Very clever!

I'm the winner of a great drawing!

Buster (my mini poodle) andI were the winners of a great drawing at Quilted Quickies blog! What a great prize package they put together. They were some home baked goodies for Buster and 2 books and a precut kit for me! Isn't that a wonderful prize? Buster loved the treats as you can see from the picture---he wanted more and more! I can't thank those ladies enough---that package really made my week!!!!!

This day, I am cutting out blocks of dolly dresses and embellishing them---what fun. They have patterns in one magazine for little purses and collars and all kinds of ideas and many ideas in another magazine, so I am coming up with all kinds of things to do---hard to make up my mind---I'll post pictures as I go along to share them with you---right now I'm at the cutting and planning stages. I think planning them is half the fun!!!
