Where the cows come home

This quilt is a Block of the Month from Primitive Gatherings.  It's called "Where the Cows Come Home."  The applique is wool. Wool applique is fun to do.  I just love the name of the quilt.

Farm Girl Vintage

Long time no write!  But I have been busy.  Life does get in the way!

Here are 2 rows of Farm Girl Vintage from Lori Holt at Bee in my Bonnet.  I have all the blocks done and ready to sash and set some more!  The book is called Farm Girl Vintage and has lots of fun patterns in it.

A Barn Quilt

Here is another barn quilt I made.  The patterns came from Lori Holt  at A Bee in my Bonnet webpage.  She has wonderful patterns.  This quilt also has a tractor on the back---you can see it on her blog.  It is a big tractor so didn't fit on the front.  Lori Holt has also published a book that has lots of fun things in it and the photography is fun, too!  All of the barns have quilt blocks in them.  Some are front views with silos and some are side views.  It was fun to do and see them come together as I "built" them!

We are under a winter storm warning as I type this afternoon-----supposed to have sleet and maybe freezing rain.  Haven't seen anything yet but we'll just wait and see!  Good day to cuddle up under a quilt and read or hand quilt!

More Quilts

These are four quilts that are almost ready for Project Linus.  The Yellow Brick Road  still needs to be quilted.  We have had a big order come in so that may be awhile.  We are grateful to our friend for that big order!

The barn picture is of a Quilty Barn Monthly that I found online and it is so much fin!   Kudos to Lori who  is designing it!  You can find it here

We are having the most wonderful weather---highs in the low 90's and lows down in the 70's.  Such a glorious start to July!!!!

Hope you are happy where ever you are!

Birdies and Barns

The Birdies from Little Miss Shabby are done for February and January. The white doesn't show up very good in the pictures, but it does show up better in person. I just love that little bird so much! This is a block of the month.

Finished the barn blocks for the Quilt Barns quilt by Eleanor Burns. The pictures show the 6.5" blocks---there are 4 of them. And then there is the big barn with the silo for the center. I still want to put some animals of some kind in there. I did find a bichon-friche to put on one of the blocks---that was the kind my Cleo was. He died 2 years ago. I sure do miss him. He lived to be 18 years old---He lived a long, good life. My mini-poodle, Buster is 16.5 years old and still going strong. The vet says we must do something special to our animals that they live so long---we just give them lots of love and I guess we spoil them, but not with food, if we can hold out with the dog biscuits, never table scraps!

Nice weather again today---up to 65 degrees! Very windy though! Hope it is nice where you are.
