Project Linus

Owls Playing Musical Chairs

Blue and Red Squares

Lazy Ladybugs

Here are some Project Linus quilts that were waiting to be quilted, so that's what I did the last week.  I still have two left to baste and get ready to quilt.  Hopefully I'll get those done this week in between a lot of "life" activities that need to be done.  So we will see how the week goes.

The weather has been beautiful, but oh, the allergies have been just terrible and then if you also suffer from asthma, as I do, somedays, you HAVE to stay inside whether you like it or not!  Get more quilting done that way, I guess!

A Great Retreat!

Debi's quilt.

My quilt, Sherbet.

Kay's start of quilt.

Marje's braid.

Marje's quilt.

part of working area.

Robin and Marje's.

Debi's quilt.

D'Ann's Quilt Start.

What a great retreat the DFW Gang had last week-end! Rayline's Retreat is a wonderful place. The pictures on the website don't do it justice------it is much nicer than they look. We overlooked a small lake and the view was so peaceful. The pictures above show some of what we did. It was a busy, yet restful time. There were nine of us.

Finished quilting and binding Sherbet today, so it is ready for Project Linus--------maybe some teenage girl will like it!

Selvage Edge Box

I made a selvage edge box to keep my selvage edges in.  It was lots of fun to do.  I want to try and make a quilt with selvage edges someday.  These boxes turned into a really fun project.

Getting ready to go, within the next week,  with the DFW Gang to a retreat near Fort Worth.  Seems like I'm taking everything except the kitchen sink this time!   Debi is doing the driving, so I don't even have to worry about that. Taking two machine projects for a large quilt and a couple of Yellow Brick Roads and a couple of hand projects to work on.  That should keep me busy, I think!  We're going to eat out and visit a couple of quilt stores---that should be fun.

Everyone enjoy your week-end!

Fabric Scraps Storage

I have been having fun the last few days making fabric storage boxes for my fabric scraps.  They are from a new book called "Sunday Morning Quilts" by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison.  So far I have made six of them.  They are color-coded to match the color of the scraps.  I have one more I know I want to do----selvedge edges.  I have to borrow the box of selvedge edges from the gal who has them from Sit and Sew group.  We have one big box that we all have been sharing.  We have been able to gather quite a collection so far!

The book is a good one, I plan to start at the front and make all the quilts in it.  Some I will make smaller than the size called for so they will work for my Project Linus quilts.

Happy Easter everyone!

Little Red Barns Quilt Top Finished!

Little Red Barns top is finished and now I need to quilt it.  That is always a hard thing to figure out for me, is it for you?  The quilt kit picture shows it quilted with meandering, so that is probably what I will do.  I'm glad this one is finished, it was a lot of "fussing" and I'm glad that's all done with!!!!  I think the stars add a nice touch though and I really like the chickens---they add personality to the whole quilt!

We dodged a big terrible storm last night.  Quite a horrific storm was bearing down on us when all of sudden it changed direction and we were spared.  PTL!  But other people to the west of us had lots of damage from about 12 tornadoes.  The pictures on TV show much damage and devastation.   Thanks to friends and family who called to see if we were all right!  We'll pray for more peaceful weather days ahead.
