Whirl Into Winter Give-Away!!

The winner is BARB from American Samoa!!! If you will e-mail your address, I will get your prize out to you as soon as possible! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thanks to everyone who entered--I enjoyed all your comments!

It's time to post the Whirl-Into-Winter-Give-Away and here is mine! A Portobello Market jelly roll and a little tin to hold it in! You need to leave a comment starting tomorrow -- the first--and not before--others will be omitted from the drawing. You need to answer this question: "What was the best present you GAVE for Christmas?" and be SURE that you leave an e-mail where I can reach you if you win if you don't have a blog. Thank you to Lucy for pointing out that I didn't put down the deadline--it will be January 15th that a name will be drawn! Short and simple!!
Have fun everyone!

Jan

Hi Jan!

I think the best presents (cuz I gave alot of them) are the criss-cross coasters. Our dear friend Jan had made them for us, and although she told me how...I just didn't get it until I saw a tutorial online. :>) I made them for my quilty friends (grin!) and for the drs and nurses (both at the offices and at dialysis) who have been so terrific to Moe these last 6 months.

One year we sent an anonymous chess set to a friend who had a terrible year following a divorce. It was a carved set of civil war chess pieces and we knew he would love it.
After a few years we told him it was from us, but he had great fun trying to figure out who was his secret santa!
Your gift will be lots of fun to receive!

My 19-year old nephew wanted a Rolling Stones vinyl album, which I found very amusing! The Rolling Stones and vinyl were both way before his time.

Nice prize - count me in please.

New goose down pillows for my husband and myself. He'd been complaining all year that all his feathers where gone. So I put them both in a large box to us from Santa he couldn't figure out what was in that box. :)

I love this question! I had my first job and worked so hard to earn money. I bought leather jackets for my dad and brother and a little portable tv for my parents. I am not sure what I bought mom individually. I will have to ask if she remembers!

Wow, Jan, I can think of so many things to do with that jelly roll! The best gift I gave this year (for Chanukah, not Christmas!) was a big book on crafts related to various holidays that I gave to my son. He's often coming up with craft projects and was thrilled with his gift.

Hi, what a nice giveaway... :) The best gift I gave this year was a camera. I presented it to my brother's family. Their old one just broke down before Christmas. They have 2 girls (3 months and almost 2 years), and they make lots of sweet pictures of my nieces. I love to watch them. Regards, szkornelia

I love jelly rolls! What a nice idea. My favorite gift that I gave this year were quilted table runners for both sisters. We are all short on cash this year so we all said we weren't giving gifts. But I was able to create them out of scraps I already have so technically it didn't cost me anything - but they were thrilled.
