Project Linus Afghan

This afghan was made for Project Linus and I called it "Camo" because the yarn is called Desert Camo. Another varigated one---I love seeing how these crochet up and what they turn out to be. Sure nice to cuddle with while working on this one because it has been cold here---even if the temps went up a bit, the wind was "bitey" --(I doubt that is a word, but it sure describes how the wind felt!!) Another storm now this morning with ice and snow on top of it. I'm beginning to feel like I'm living up north again instead of northern Texas!

I also finished another quilt that is for a contest on the Quilting Bee Forum for Project Linus, but I can't show it yet, because the contest hasn't started and it would give away my quilt. No one is to know who they are voting for. It was a fun and challenging contest---we were each given 1/2 yard of 2 fabrics and were to make an approximately 40 x 50" quilt from that---we could add fabric as needed. It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!

Everyone stay warm now. Spring will be here soon, I hope!!!

Project Linus Quilts Again!

Finished two more Project Linus quilts that were in the quilting pile and now have binding and are ready to go to other pile that will be taken to the drop off point soon!!!! Lots of piles!

The first one has NASCARs in the middle with checkered flags around them. This was a fun one to make with a boy in mind. Oh course, I'm sure there are girls that like NASCAR, too!!!
The second one I called "Sweet Violets," because the fabrics have tiny flowers in them that reminded me of violets and springtime.

Still working on my wool applique here and have my little scarf half-way knitted. It is the kind with the slit that lets you pull one end through. I got some black and blue yarn that has little spots of purple in it--fun stuff. I was overwhelmed when I went to the yarn store and saw all the choices---had to have the saleslady help me pick out the right kind--overchoice, for me!!!! I'm just doing knit every row, so it is very relaxing--don't have to remember a pattern at all.
