Our Trip to the International Quilt Festival

No pictures today because the brochures said not to take pictures, so we didn't, although there were lots of people who did.

We left early Thursday morning and came back Saturday afternoon.  Had Sunday all day to rest up------good thing we did that!!!!!

We had a wonderful time.  1,100 vendors and lots of quilting displays.  Lots to see and do.  We both took classes.  Maynard went to a lecture from Superior Threads on Threads and thought it was very informative.  He also took a class on Longarm Quilting from Pam Clarke on Block to Block Free Motion Quilting.  He hopes to get into free motion quilting and custom quilting someday with his business, right now he does  edge-to-edge.

I took the "Saturday Sampler" class.  There were 21 teachers at different stations showing their specialty.  Very interesting.  Took 2 hours to see them all!!

I found lots of great things to buy----including Midwinter Reds--------a line of fabric from Moda that I want to use for a Log Cabin quilt.  Also got a wool applique kit with lots of little blocks in it that should be lots of fun.  Found several things to buy that I didn't even know I needed!  What fun!

It was a fun vacation for us, even though we both got really tired.  I'm already thinking about next year------it will be the 40th anniversary of the Quilt Show and will probably be another great one.

Let quilting help you make someone smile!
