Retreat!
It was a smaller in number group than usual, but we still managed to get a lot done in the quilt department! I've chosen just a few pictures of quilts to show you----in some cases, it's just pieces of quilt tops, but they are well on their way!
The first picture shows Dequita with her barn quilt center block. Her barns quilt is really looking good!
Next is Elaine's music baby quilt---her pattern---isn't it neat? Third, is JoAnn's Snowball quilt. Love the colors in this one.
Fourth is my little quilt called "Urban Cabins" from Atkinson patterns. I was lucky enough to win the red FQs lotto game and since I had the pattern with me I decided to use those red FQs right away.
Next are Ruby and Jackie's "starts" to beautiful quilts. Don't remember the names of these. Sorry!
Last is Elaine's Lover's Knot using a Eleanor Burns pattern. Deborah did some stars in blues and reds that were pretty, but I was unable to get a picture of those. Isn't it fun to see what everyone else is doing?
Have a great week-end!

Country Roads Quilt Top
This is a quilt top that I put together from a kit with panel of houses and barns. The applique was done on the machine and had to be done as I put the rows and borders together since it overlapped the borders. It adds a "little something" to the quilt. The quilt is called "Country Roads" and is from Coach House Designs.
It's a dreary day outside---rain showers (glad for the rain because we really need it), so I'm spending the afternoon looking through pattern books that I haven't looked at for awhile trying to find somethng new to do. Going to a quilt retreat soon and can't decide just what to take! Of course, I will do several Yellow Brick Roads tops for Project Linus. Then I will probably finish embroidery on several flower blocks left and finish the Magnolia quilt by sewing the blocks together. And there is always something to crochet. I'm sure I can find lots to ways to keep busy!!!
Looking forward to this trip a lot----I'll be hobbling around on my cane, because my knee is acting up and the shot the doctor gave to help it hindered rather than helped and I have had trouble ever since he administered it. Have to take it slow! Learning to slow down-------------not an easy thing to do!!!!

Dolly Quilts
The first picture is Block five of a BOM from Australia. It is called Leanne's House.
It is loaded with embroidery. Sorry the picture is not very clear. If you click on the picture, it becomes clearer. The saying is: "May your heart make you grateful for the simple things."
The second picture shows two Dolly quilts that I made for my grandgirls for their dollies. They are from a line of fabric from Lakehouse called Pam Kitty Morning. I used the panel that was available and put a piano key border on two sides. One has a yellow backing and one has a pink backing. Just to help tell them apart!
Nice, sunny day here, but on the chilly side for us----it's our Texas Winter the weather man said!

Two to go!
Here are number 9 and number 10 to go to Project Linus. One is called "Painted Ponies" after the line of fabric that I used. It is a Yellow Brick Road.
The second one is called "Urban Cabins" after the name of the pattern. It is a Terry Atkinson pattern. All her patterns are so much fun to do. I'm going to have to do some more of them!
We are having a very warm winter. Highs in the upper 60's and lower 70's. We like this, but wonder what s coming next!
