Friendship Block

Another block from the Quilt In A Day book Egg Money Quilts by Eleanor Burns. This one is called Friendship Block and is made so that the maker's friends could sign the open spaces around the block. It was easier to do than it looks! This quilt will be a sampler when it is done. I really like doing samplers--gives you a taste of different blocks and if you don't like it, you only have to do one of them!

We made a quick trip to Austin and back over Tuesday and Wednesday to help take care of our grandboys while our son-in-law had surgery. Our daughter wanted us there "just-in-case" and of course we were glad to be of help! Son-in-law came through the surgery just great and for that we were so thankful. And we had a wonderful visit with the grandboys--Nathan, age 2 in October has so many words now and it's so fun to hear him say them. Evan, age 5 has started reading lots of words and surprised me with just how large his vocabulary really is--we were working on a "work-book" together and he could read most of the directions himself--what fun! I remember his mother reading at an early age, so it didn't surprise me at all!! What a joy all our grandchildren are--we are so blessed to have all 4 of them!

Let quilting help you make someone smile!
