Spools and Sheep
These spools are for the Sampler quilt that Debi and I are working on. They were a fun and easy part to do!
Here are two out of nine sheep that I'm doing for a wall hanging. Their eyes say it all. These are really fun to do because the pattern is so good. The pattern is in the Star of Wonder book by Nancy Halvorsen. the pattern shows a shepherd, but I'm going to make the wall hanging with 9 sheep only.

On The Farm quilt top
Here is On The Farm quilt top that I just finished. The last border doesn't show up, but it is 9-patches that are 2 1/2" squares of the left-over fabric from the barns. It is very large (to me) ----72" x 92". I think I will have Maynard (my hubby) quilt it with a meandering star or else sheep. Have to see how it looks on the machine.
We are having chilly weather for us----cold front came through and left us in the 40's to 50's. Wearing a sweater again today. The trees are budding and blooming and I saw some wood violets in our yard. Someone said they saw some bluebonnets, too. My wood violets came from my Grandmother's back yard in Iowa---many years ago, I transplanted them to my garden and when we moved to Texas, they came along. I really like them.

Alternate blocks
Here are two of the blocks that will alternate with the barns I showed yesterday. I think the pictures are so sweet. Remind me of growing up on a dairy farm many moons ago!

I Love Barns
As you have probably noticed-----I love quilts with barns in them. I've lost count of how many I have done. These are two of the latest ones----they go in a quilt from American Jane. The alternating blocks have old-fashioned pictures of kids with farm animals. My friend, Dequita, loaned the pattern to me-----thanks Dequita! I'm having fun with these barns and "filling" the doors with pictures of animals----some are cartoon pictures, and some are the "real" thing!

More of the Sampler Quilt
These are the houses for the house row----there are five of them. These were easy and fun to make---especially since they are scrappy.
Behind the houses are the rail fence blocks I'm working on for another quilt. It has a mitered border, so I set that one aside for a bit after it was all sewn together. I'll tackle those miters next week!!!!
