Visiting the Grandgirls

Just back from a trip to Columbus and a great visit with the grandgirls and their parents.  This picture shows 9 year old Isabel with the three ice cream sundaes she made to share with the family.
This picture shows Ilena, age 6 with the ice cream sundaes she made to share with everyone.  What a fun time we had with this!  We also did beaded bracelets and played games and read books---Isabel read to us instead of the other way around now!  We had such a good time!  Aren't grandkids the best of all?  We sure love ours and have such fun with them.

Tomorrow we get to see our grandboys as they will stop by for lunch on the way to Ashland, Ohio for the 4th of July.  That will fun, too.

This was a break of 6 days from any quilting and sewing.  So when I sewed several blocks together wrong today, I wan't too surprised----takes me a while to get back in the groove!  I still have some ripping to do---will have to finish it tomorrow.  Even cut some pieces wrong----oh dear.  Making a quilt that I have done several times before -----"Just Can't Cut It,"------ shouldn't be this hard.

Teeny Tiny Quilts

These are two teeny tiny quilts that I made for my dear granddaughters for their tiny dollies like Polly Pocket et al.  I can't think of the names of any others right now, but they have lots of tiny ones!  They measure 3.5" by 2".  They were lots of fun to make.  The pattern is from Vanessa at this blog, Punkin Pattern.  It will be fun to see them play with them.

Maynard and Jan's latest blocks

Here is Maynard's latest -----a star pattern. IMHO, he is doing a great job with those points!  He chose beautiful colors, too.

My block is a Scrap Twist block from a pattern by Betty Hammock.  This has a partial seam in it which is much easier than I thought it would be!  I like the woven look of this block.

So it goes in our quilting world---always something new to learn!

Four To Go!

Garden Maze 1 is a Yellow Brick Road, which, of course, is one of my favorites to do.
Garden Maze 2 is another Yellow Brick Road.
This rail fence is called Black, White and RED!   A five-row rail fence.
Topsy-Turvy Rail fence with the rail fence set on the diagonal.

Is anyone else having trouble with the new BLogger?  I can't get it to work at all on my older computer.  Have to take it into the Computer Hospital for an update, I guess.  I can't remember how old it is.  They suggested google Chrome, but that didn't work either.  So I'm using the laptop and muddling through.

We are getting some much-needed rain here.  Rainy and cloudy today---will work on a new pattern for a scrappy quilt that is a pattern from a gal  that teaches at my favorite quilt shop,  Quilt Mercantile.  It's so much more fun to work on the scrappy quilts now that the scraps are sorted.
