One Quilt To Go!!

We are back from Ohio on vacation to see our grandgirls and what a wonderful, whirlwind trip we had!  We got to see Isabel play baseball and Ilena in her dance recital.  It was really a wonderful experience.

Here are Isabel (A "big fan") and a   friend, Grace and Ilena ready to dance in the ballet "Mirror, Mirror."  Isabel watched and liked it, too!.  There about 200 dancers in the play and it was wonderful!

This quilt called for 2 rulers that I didn't have and didn't want to purchase, so I muddled through on my own and ended up making 2 each of the 3 that I managed to figure out!!!

Here is Ilena all ready to go---hair braided and make-up courtesy of her Mom.  She was a Mini Snow White and her class danced with Snow White for their number.

I'm doing this on a new computer and so I hope it goes all right onto the blog!

Grandkids Pictures!

First one shows Isabel and Ilena getting ready to play "Pinkalicious" Scrabble on the "Scrabble" Quilt that Maynard and I made for them. It really was fun---We played the Junior version and had a good time. Amy reports that they have even used it for Sunday School and had good reports on it from there, too!! Always nice to hear that quilts are being used!!!!

Second picture shows the girls with the little quilts I made using their pictures they had drawn for me as patterns. They understood the concept and thought they were really neat. Ilena asked if I put seeds in the ground like she did---I hadn't seen that part, so we had to add those with a marker.

Last, but certainly not least, is the picture of Ilena and Isabel wearing the t-top dresses that BFF Debi made for the them. Didn't Debi do a wonderful job---they loved these and didn't want to take them off, so I knew they were comfortable, too!
Thanks again to Debi!

Great Thanksgiving Time !

Aren't grandkids just the best? We have 4 of them and wouldn't trade them for anything! This is a picture of the girls age 6 and 2. We celebrated the 6 year-old's birthday while we were at their house for Thanksgiving last week. We had Grandmas from both sides and Nana, Grandpa, Uncle and Great Grandma, whew--we did it right!!!! Hello Kitty was the theme and was a big hit! What fun!!!!!!

Visits are never long enough and yet, it is good to come home---what's the deal with that double thinking?! When we left Columbus, it was 37 degrees--we came home to Northern Texas to 67 degree weather--nice change!!! That was before the cold front came through last night and left us colder temps---ahhh, the changeable weather!!! It's that way everywhere, I guess!

Now to get back into the quilting mode---I'm working on some friendship stars for the Civil War quilt this afternoon and have traced off 2 more pictures for the Polka Dot Girls blocks. Now just need to get busy!!!
