Nine patch squares

My hubby found a stack of big 9 patch squares at a garage sale and brought them home.  I set them 3 x 5 squares with sashing.  Liking the way they turned out!

Happy Fall to everyone!

One little quilt

Been working on this little quilt while I recuperate from surgery.  Only can sew about a 1//2 hour a day.  Nothing like a log cabin to do  a little at a time!  Thanks Debi for the fabric!

We are in the HOT days of summer now.  Going to hit 100 a couple of days this week.

Excuses, Excuses and Excuses

I apologize for not writing on my blog sooner! Life  gets in the way!

I had surgery on my right shoulder (I'm right handed) 6 weeks ago and just not getting to use the computer, though not for long times at a stretch.  Going to Physical  Therapy 3 times a week takes up time, too. I haven't sewed or crocheted since then.  It may be another month before I can sew something. Sure do miss  it!

Hopefully I will back at it soon!

Liberty Quilt and Sunbonnet Sue

This patriotic quilt is Yellow Brick Road pattern and is for Project Linus.
This one is Sunbonnet Sue showing the 4 seasons.  It is done with watercolor pencils.  It was a new-to-me technique, but lots of fun.  This one is on my sewing room wall.

Trip to the Grandgirls!

Spent a wonderful 4 days in Columbus, OH with our granddaughters.  This is Isabel, 14 years old, practicing her 100 meters run.  She's also going to run the 200 meter and 440 meter races.
This is Ilena, 12 years old in her dance recital costume.  She did an excellent job.  Such fun to watch.  They are growing up so fast!!

We also drove out of our way (just 100 miles round trip)  on our way back home to Texas to stop at Hancock's of Paducah  fabric store.  What a wonderful place.  Only took 45 minutes to spend  some $$$!!!!  But got some good bargains!

BLOOM

This is a pattern from Lori Holt, Bee in her Bonnet.  It's called BLOOM.  I made it much smaller than it called for because I will send it to Project Linus.  Fun quilt to do.

Amish Wall hanging and Project Linus

I hung the Amish Wall Hanging in my sewing room. Have always admired this pattern and now I finally did it.  The pattern is from Rachel T. Pellman, Rachel's of Greenfield.  My hubby custom- quilted it.  He did a great job!

The Project Linus quilt (first one) is quilted with lots of big construction equipment.  Some little boy should like.

Two for Project Linus

This one is fabric from the book "Guess How Much I love You."    The bunny fabric is so cute.
This one is airplanes and quilted with helicopters.  Fun!  I hope some little boy will like it!

New for Project Linus

The top one is quilted with Thomas the Train.  The second one is quilted with a whirlwind design like it is blowing around the whirligigs!  It was made with partial seams, which weren't too bad once I got the idea of it!  But once I got it I had to finish them all at once because I would forget which way they went in!

Redwork Winter

This is a pattern from Betty Alderman.  I just love her patterns.  I have quite a few more that I want to do!  So much fun!  It is hard to see, but the non-embroidery fabric is wool.
