Project Linus Mystery Quilt

Sorry to be so long in writing.  I had cataract surgery in both eyes and my asthma has been just awful this year.  So between those 2 things, I have not done much quilting!

This is the Mystery Quilt from Project Linus for this year.  Called Sweet Violet's Bakery.

Three For Project Linus

Been a busy ten days and three more quilts done for Project Linus! I got more batting and so quilted these up and they are ready to go into the pile for delivery. Have several more to pin baste and quilt. Now I'm running out of backings, so will have to see about getting some more soon! Dear husband has been in China on a business trip for the last ten days and so I have sewed up a storm---time goes much faster when you are busy--right?! Got a lot of YBR tops done, but haven't even dented my pile of fat quarters that I have in piles of sixes in a basket ready to do---they seem instead to be multiplying!!!! Go figure!!

The first one is a panel quilt called "Little Blessings" and has such cute flowers and bugs on it. The second one is "Baby Bears" ---it has bears and blocks and things for babies and just looks soft like a baby quilt. The third one is called "Which Sport Will It Be?" The theme fabric has all kinds of sports balls on it and players in uniforms---even an umpire or referee.

More Civil War Blocks

Finished 2 more sets of blocks for the Civil War quilt! It is moving along quite nicely and quicker than I thought it would. I like doing just a few blocks at a time and they are fairly simple patterns. The fabric is lovely--it was in a kit from my local quilt store, Quilt Mercantile. The first picture shows the blocks that are Card Trick and the second show the blocks that are Sawtooth Stars. I had never done Card Trick before and that was a new experience. By following the picture very, very carefully, I didn't have to do too much "frog" (rip-it, rip-it) stitching!!!!

A week from today is Thanksgiving and we will be in Ohio visiting our DD and her family--can hardly wait to see them again! I sure there will be plenty of tea parties and girly things to do. Isabel will turn 6 on December 3rd and Ilena is 3 on January 4th. So we know there will be one birthday party while we are there! What fun to look forward to!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

Today I finished this top: a Yellow Brick Road done in a baby print for friends of ours who are adopting a baby. Such fun to do in this cute baby animal print. The fabrics don't show up as such in the picture, but they are all swirls prints and not plain like they look. Lots of visual content!

"They" say that babies like bright things and contrasting colors..... In fact I made my grandson, Nathan, a Baby Genius quilt that would knock your socks off it is so bright, but I think he likes it!!!!!!

For his brother, Evan, Maynard designed and we made together a Memory Game quilt that was very bright also. I guess we gravitate toward the brights!!!!!!
