Retreat Pictures from DFW Gang

I haven't been blogging, but have been working on quilts!  Maynard has a whole pile to work on, but has to do the customers quilts first!  And he has been quite busy, which is a good thing!

The first two pictures show quilts from the retreat.  The second one is an antique quilt that one of the girls was showing to us.  It is butterflies and was so pretty.  All done by hand of course!

The third picture shows the Fat Quarters I won in the Fat Quarter game called " Left, Right and Center."  They are Brights,  Polka Dots, and Stripes.  I won twice  (Yeah!!!) and the girl that had the polka dots gave them to me.  What a nice thing to do. Thank you Brenda!! There are over 90 fat quarters there.  I came home and divided them into color piles and sorted them into piles of six fat quarters that went together for Yellow Brick Roads.  I got 15 quilts.  I added a few FQs in from my stash.  They all play nicely together!!!
I feel very blessed!

The fourth picture is of a block from the quilt Round and Round.  It is found on an online store called Thimble Blossoms.  It looks hard, but it really isn't if you follow the layout piece by piece.

Hope you are having Spring weather in your part of the country!

Blue and Grey Civil War

This is a T-shirt quilt that Maynard wanted me to make to try out quilting a T-shirt quilt on the big machine.  It turned out quite nicely.  The T-shirts played nice after I got them lined with stabilizer!
Finally, I did a Civil War quilt ----I got the kit at Primitive Gatherings in Houston last year and now I have it all together.  After Maynard gets all caught up on customer orders, then he will be able to quilt this one!  The pattern is from Country Threads.  It is called Blue and Gray.   It was fun to do, although as hard as I tried, some of the 1 1/4th inch blocks still got a little wonky!
